When I first moved to the city, I found your monologue from SHOES in “Best Men's Stage Monologues of 1999” (Do they still publish those books?). My teachers at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts said I needed the whole script, so I WROTE to you, and not only did you respond, you sent a complete script and paid for the postage yourself.

I have been cleaning my apartment, trying in vain to declutter, and I came across your script today. I have been carrying it since 1999 or so, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for caring. It meant a lot to me as a young acting student. And finding people who take the time to connect on a personal level gets harder and harder in this business, so a quick note to say it meant a lot and continues to do so.
